Garlic and herb naan (vegan) step by step

  1. Mix the yeast and sugar into the warm water and give it a few minutes to allow the yeast to start working..
  2. Add all the other ingredients into a stand mixer with a dough hook. Start to combine them and then add the yeast mixture. Let the dough hook work until a smooth dough is produced. Add a little extra water if the mix is too dry, or a little extra flour if it is too wet..
  3. Let the dough prove for about an hour, until it has doubled in size..
  4. Divide the dough into 3-6 pieces (depending on how big you want the naans to be!) and roll into an ovallish shape..
  5. Heat a frying pan with a very little oil, and cook each naan for 2-3 minutes on each side..
  6. Serve with a delicious curry (pictured here with Bombay aloo and spinach chana masala)..
